Geneva Cheryl MacDonald, 74, of Williston, SC, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 6, 2020. Cheryl was born on November 18, 1946 to the late Roy W. and Cora Francis Shoemake Hollander.
Cheryl obtained her cosmetology instructor license in Deridder, LA where she taught prior to her move to Columbia, SC in the mid 1980’s. There, she continued teaching cosmetology for a short time. Cheryl was a dedicated member of Elko Baptist Church, the Order of Eastern Star, Joyful Servants Sunday School Class and Senior Citizens of Elko.
Cheryl thoroughly enjoyed traveling with her sister-in-law, Shirley Hollander and niece, Michele Dunum throughout the United States. In addition, she enjoyed many fun-filled adventures over the years with her dear friends, Kathy and Kaye.
Cheryl was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved her family dearly. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Charles A. MacDonald “Mac”, parents Roy W. and Cora Francis Shoemake Hollander, daughter Frances Elizabeth Shirley, son Charles William Shirley and brother, Roy Allen Hollander.
Cheryl is survived by her son Donald Shirley (DW), grandson David Shirley, granddaughter Celena Shirley, sister-in-law Shirley Hollander, niece Michele Dunum and husband Mark, great-nephew Shane Hollander and wife Brittney, along with numerous nephews and nieces.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00p.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel, located at 820 West Dunbar Rd., West Columbia, SC 29170. Pastor Tom Baker of Elko Baptist Church will be officiating the service.
