He received both undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of South Carolina. Geoff’s career was primarily as an accounting instructor for Greenville Technical College. After his retirement, he returned to Cayce. Geoff was a long term volunteer for Meals on Wheels in both Greenville and West Columbia.
He is survived by his mother, Mary R. Heriot of Charleston; brother, Kirk Heriot of Rochester NY; sister, Gail Silverman and her husband, Lenny of Charleston; and two nephews, Neil and Adam Heriot of Rochester. Geoff was predeceased by his father, Henry G. Heriot.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Saint Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 900 Calhoun Street, Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
