George Norton

He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Trudy Norton; daughter, Sabrina Herring and sister, Margaret Buchanan.

George was predeceased by his mother, Della Cain; father, Herbert Norton, and brothers, Gordon Norton and Rodney Norton.

George had a natural ability to master any skill that involved using his hands, including yearly gardens yielding food for the family and the massive achievement of building a home with his wife. He also worked for most of his career as an auto body painter, being acknowledged as one of the best in his city. George enjoyed his retirement with daily walks and relaxation.

He was a kind, gentle man who was always helpful and deeply enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends and family.

He will be missed by family, friends, colleagues and neighbors.

A memorial service for George will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home-Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072.

The family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time as well as the nurses, surgeons and cardiologists at Lexington Medical Center for their compassionate care during George’s short stay.
