
Hilda Pound Taylor, a beloved resident of Springdale, South Carolina, passed away on December 28, 2025, at the age of 100. Born on June 30, 1925, Hilda lived a full and remarkable life, characterized by her dedication to family, her love for nature, and her enjoyment of simple pleasures.
Hilda is survived by her children: Charles Norman Taylor and his wife Denise, James H. Taylor and his wife Catherine, and Debra Taylor and her husband Bobby Howard. She leaves behind a legacy through her grandchildren: Charles N. Taylor, Jr., Dena C. Taylor, Paula M. Taylor, Tanya C. LeBeouf, James N. Taylor, Kelly Taylor Edwards, and Steven Taylor Abernathy, (and their spouses) along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Norman W. Taylor, and her siblings Hazel, Dorothy, Drexel, Ella, Ehrlich, Thomas, and Joyce.
Hilda found joy in working in her yard, nurturing her beloved dogs, and spending time solving word search puzzles. Her passions reflected her love for the outdoors and her fondness for quiet, thoughtful activities.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Grand-daughter, Kelly Edwards of Stanley, NC and Cardinal Hospice in Thomasville, NC, for their compassionate care and support.
Hilda Taylor will be remembered for her warmth, her love for her family, and her zest for life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - West Columbia Chapel, located at 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170, on January 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM.
Burial will take place at Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170, following the service.
