Chip was also a respected champion of the New Brookland team.He helped raise more than his own children.

Mr. and Mrs. Chapman knew me when I was a little girl. I remember when he had fish fry's because my Dad would go and sometimes my Mom and I would go too. Mr. Chapman and his sweet wife Ruth loved to garden, they would ask my Mom if she would like some fresh vegetables and so Mrs. Ruth would take them to her. She also cooked cornbread and collards and brought them to my Mom and she enjoyed that so much. My sister Rhonda S. Webb and my two brothers David and Bruce Stanley were all so fond of Mr. Chapman. He was a sweet man and he always would say hello to me at church and he loved going to church and being loved by everyone. The last time my family saw him  was when he was at The Presbyterian Home. Mrs. Chapman told us about this rehab place and that's where my Mom went and she is still there today and she is doing better day by day. My husband Bob and I always enjoyed talking to Mr. Chapman when we would be at the rehab place.  God Bless Mrs. Ruth and Wayne and Terry and the rest of the family. We love you all. A wonderful man! I remember  my dad, Bill Elkin and Ira were good friends for many years. May he rest in peace.  Prayers lifting up the Chapman family.
