James J. Black, 72, of Leesville passed away July 4th, 2023 at his residence from health issues. He was born October 27th, 1950 in Chester, South Carolina to the late James Ulysses and Margeurite Ann Black.
James is survived by his wife, Louise; his son, Steven Black; sisters, Shirley(Robert) Pullens and Murna Watts; and brothers, Leland(Bonnie) Black, and Silas(Janet) Black.
He was predeceased in death by brothers: Jimmy Black, Jasper Black, and one sister, Jackie Roof.
He retired from H.K. Steele after 42 years of service.
A graveside service for James will be held Friday, July 7, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, South Carolina 29170 and will be officiated by brother-in-law, Robert Pullens. A visitation prior to service is welcome from 9:00am to 2:00 pm at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - West Columbia Chapel, 820 W. Dunbar Rd, W. Columbia, South Carolina 29170.
