WEST COLUMBIA – Funeral services for Jimmy Allen Jacobs, 77, of West Columbia will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with interment in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 21, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 508 Hampton St. Columbia, SC 29201.
Mr. Jacobs was born November 21, 1938 in West Columbia to the late Etson Gillian Jacobs and Margaret Elizabeth Sox Jacobs and passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016. He worked construction installing fences. He loved gardening, barbequing, hunting and fishing. Jimmy was a direct decedent of Galieb Sox one of the early families of Lexington County. He was also a member of the Waccamaw Indian Tribe.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Jacobs; sons, Dennis and Duane Jacobs; daughter Karen Jacobs (Joey Johnson); brother, Larry Jacobs (Patti) of Kennesaw, GA; sisters, Ellen (Roger) Carlson of Sioux Falls, SD, Patricia (Harold) Hallman, of West Columbia, SC, Shirley (Richard) Carlson of West Columbia, SC, Sandra (Ralph) McClellan of Spruce Pine, NC, Brenda Holder of Cape Coral, FL and Cathy Lucas (Jim Craig) of Lexington, SC. The family would like to give a special thanks to Agape Hospice for all their loving care.
