CAYCE – Funeral services for John Hubert Gunter, 61, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with entombment in Southland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2012 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Church Youth of Transfiguration Lutheran Church, 1301 12th Street, Cayce, SC 29033.
Mr. Gunter was born July 20, 1950 in Lexington and passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2012. He was the son of Bettie Blume Gunter Knight and the late Wilkin J. Gunter. Mr. Gunter was a graduate of Airport High School and had attended the University of South Carolina. He worked as a computer specialist for USC, South Carolina Electric and Gas and Palmetto Cash Register.
Mr. Gunter is survived by his wife of 34 years, Debbie Fulmer Gunter; sons, Gray of Columbia, Garrison and Griffin of Cayce; brothers, Jay (Pat) of Orange Park, FL and Jimmy (Donna) of Columbia; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Red and Jean Fulmer of Cayce; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mac and Sheila Fulmer of Cayce; nieces and nephews and his beloved cat, Coal.
