

Mrs. Joyce Spigner was born to the late George Bailey and Lena Alma McClinton on March 12, 1933, in Alabama. She raised her family in Cayce and later moved to Prosperity. She passed away on Tuesday, September 3rd peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 91. Joyce is preceded in death by her loving husband, Sam Spigner.
Joyce was the matriarch of our family, always making sure everyone was taken care of. Her most treasured moments were spending time with all her children and grandchildren. Through her love and dedication to our family, she has established family traditions that will continue for many years to come.
She is survived by one son, Ronnie (Chris) Spigner of Georgetown; two daughters, JoAnn (Ben) Hoover of Dalzell, Wendy (Donnie) Turner of Gilbert and son-in-law, Ricky Keeney. She was also blessed with eleven grandchildren: Avry Spigner, Jessica Spigner, Johnathan Spigner, Joseph Spigner, Todd Williams, Britt Williams, Benji Hoover, Ashley Wiles, Brandon Turner, Brittany Turner and Caleb Shealy, along with 16 great grandchildren who lovingly called her “Big Ma”. Additional surviving family members are her sisters, Dot Walker, Nancy (Fred) Curry and brother, Bailey (Pauline) McClinton. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gwen Keeney; grandson, Scott Williams; great-granddaughter, Skielar Spigner; and sister, Bobby Jean Leaphart.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6th at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - West Columbia Chapel. Keith Kirchner will officiate. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. before the service.
