WEST COLUMBIA – Funeral services for Lee Gene Williamson, 77, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel, with interment to follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at the funeral home. Mr. Williamson was born August 28, 1941 in Aiken, SC, and passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. He was a son of the late Ruth Wooten and Legare “Tunk” Williamson. Mr. Williamson served in the U.S. Air Force for 14 years as a flight engineer and was also a Vietnam veteran. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad, where he worked for 31 years. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing and riding his Harley Davidson. He never met a stranger.
Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife, Iris W. Williamson of West Columbia; daughters, Tammy W. “Wendy” Gerringer (Tony) of Swansea, Cindy Lea Sutphin (Dwight) of West Columbia; sister, Dora Ann Elrod (Pete) of Gilbert, SC, and brother, Ronnie Williamson of Leesville, SC.
