At his request, a graveside service will be held at Southland Memorial Gardens, 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29169 on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 11:00 am.
Lewis is survived by his wife, Pearlean; children: Cheryl, Sonny, Connie, Barbara and Vicky as well as grandchildren, Amanda, Chase, Nick, Jaimie, Paige, Julia, Emmalee, and Evan and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by mother, Alice; father, Carroll and brother, Paul.
Lewis served four years in the United States Air Force. Tilling, planting, weeding, and harvesting, Lewis was very proud of his garden and would use those fresh ingredients in his kitchen. He was also doling out his fresh vegetables and fruits to family and friends. He was a fantastic chef and delighted family every Sunday with creative dishes that always left you wanting more. His cornbread dressing recipe was his superpower!
An avid angler, Lewis made at least weekly trips to various fishing spots around the state. He will be fondly remembered as the Fishing Fool. Each weekend you’d also find Lewis cheering on the Gamecocks and his favorite NASCAR driver.
