GASTON – Funeral service for Louise Smith Hite, 78, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2012 at Grace Chapel in Dixiana with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2012 at the home of James and Marian Walker. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Chapel, 663 Dixiana Road, West Columbia, SC 29172. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Hite was born January 23, 1934 in Lexington County, SC and passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2012. Mrs. Hite was a charter member of Grace Chapel. She was a retired medical transcriptionist and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Hite is survived by her husband, William “Billy” Hite of Gaston; daughters, Gail Hite Senn (H. Edward, Jr.) of Florence, AL and Marian Hite Walker (James S.) of Gaston; brother, Jimmy P. Smith (Jean) of West Columbia; grandchildren, William “Billy” Senn (Melody), James P. Walker (Nicole), Elizabeth S. Dawson (Jarod), M. James Ayscue, and Joseph C. Walker (Amber); great-grandchildren, Cameron and Logan Walker, Erica Ayscue, Haley and Cheyenne Dawson and Carlyn Walker. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Broadus D. Smith.
