Melba, may the windows of heaven blow softly and whisper in your ear. I had the pleasure of knowing Melba thru her niece and my best friend Tami Hatcher. Tami I know how much you loved Melba and how much she loved you . I remember going to the flea market when Melba would have a booth and Tami would be helping her. I would hang out to chat and laugh with them. Melba told me once she was so thankful for Tami helping her. Tami adored her Aunt Melba and always made sure she got what she needed and loved spending time with her. Tami, God is looking down from heaven praising you and I am so sorry for your loss. Melba will always remember the love you showed her. I love you my friend

Oh, sweet Melba. I am so very sorry that such a kind and grand lady as you had to endure so much suffering during your last weeks with us. I will never forget our long talks about the love and closeness you had with your precious niece, Tami Hatcher, about the places she took you, and about your good times with her and friends. The sheer joy you had when you were able to attend and participate in Tami’s wedding in my home, made us all so very happy. I will always cherish the great times and pure fun you, Tami, and I shared on our trips to the Commissary, the PX, and especially the Thrift store at the Fort, or our fun visits and people watching in restaurants. You were treasured, and you will be sorely missed. I love you, Melba!
