Murie Chavis McLelland, 80, of Lexington, South Carolina, wife of the late Ford McLelland, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. She was born on February 20, 1943, in Swansea, to the late Marion and Vera Chavis.
She was a graduate of Brookland Cayce High School and Palmer Junior College. She worked in Insurance as an underwriter for many years, and later worked at Lexington Family Practice as a Referral Specialist.
She is survived by a son, Chris McLelland, and his wife, Joanna McLelland; three granddaughters and a grandson-in-law, Hannah & Bryan Whitener, Bethany and Hope McLelland; and one sister, Marlean Mangum.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, December 1, 2023 in the chapel of Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia, 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170. Family will receive friends from 2:00 -2:50 PM prior to the service in the chapel. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens.
