Pamela Alexandria Craig was born to Alexandrina Grey and Robert Craig, on October 23, 1923 in Aberdeen, Scotland. Later on she lived with her mother, Alexandrina and stepfather, George Holmes in London, England. She survived the bombing blitz while studying Pharmacy until 1945, when she met and married her husband Sgt. Kelly Odell Bumgarner from Drexel N.C. Coming to the US as a War Bride in 1945, one of Pam’s proudest days was when she earned her US Citizenship. She was also very proud of over 30 years of service to the Lord as a children’s Sunday school teacher. Pam was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church for over 40 years. An avid knitter, fisherman, housewife, grandmother, and devoted mother are some of the many memories we cherish.
Pam is survived by her three sons, Rex O. Bumgarner (Annelies), Brett E. Bumgarner (Connie) and Stuart L. Bumgarner (Teresa); grandchildren, Kelly Williams (Robbie), Jason O. Bumgarner, Lorelei McKay (Robert), Carl Alexander Bumgarner, Rex Ivan Bumgarner (Rebecca), Jamie Gasaway, Cassandra Mason (Keith), Jennifer Bumgarner and 20 great-grandchildren all of Lexington or West Columbia.
Pamela was preceded in death by her husband, Ret. Command Sgt. Major Kelly O. Bumgarner. She was also predeceased by her brothers and parents of Great Britain. Others surviving are sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews of Great Britain and USA.
