Patrick Henry Evans, Jr.

LEXINGTON - Patrick Henry Evans, Jr., 72, of Lexington, South Carolina, peacefully passed on Saturday, November 17, 2018. Pat is survived by his sons, Pat Evans (Marissa) and Reid Evans from his first marriage to Terry Meek, and Ben Evans from his second marriage to Elaine Evans; his grandchildren, Reese, Cameron, Parker, and Carroll and his brothers, Robert Evans, Donnie Evans, and James Evans. He was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick Henry Evans and Parlene Hesser Evans. Pat was a loving father, brother, grandfather, and friend. Pat served four years in the United States Navy as a boatswain's mate and chief petty officer on the USS Ranger during the Vietnam War. He worked in the steel business for over 45 years and was founder of Evans Steel Service, Inc. and Galvstar (now Valmont Industries, Inc.). He loved football, especially the Gamecocks. Pat also enjoyed reading, gardening, spending time on the beach and at the mountains, as well as laughing with family and friends. He always had a good story and was willing to listen and offer advice. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel. Visitation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nancy K. Perry Children's Shelter, P.O. Box 344, Lexington, SC 29071.
