Richard Wayne Barr, Sr.

ORANGEBURG - A memorial service for Richard Wayne Barr, Sr., 62, of Orangeburg will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Living Well Celebration Center, Highway 4 in Orangeburg. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Mr. Barr died Monday, July 9, 2012. Born October 21, 1950, he was the son of the late Mr. Alex and Mrs. Dorothy Barr of Orangeburg. Mr. Barr worked in construction and was an avid fisherman. He also served in the United States Army. Survivors include a son Richard W. Barr, Jr. and a daughter, Heather B. Dent, both of St. Matthews; five grandchildren, Ethan, Shelby, Dylan, Madison and McKayla and one great-grandchild, McKenzie; brothers, Ralph Hughes of Orangeburg and James Barr of Austin, TX. He was predeceased by a brother, David Barr. He also had special friends Bill and Linda Millhouse.

i never met mr. barr, but i know that he was a special man. my heart goes out to his family especially his son, Richard. cancer is a cruel, cruel disease and it always makes me so sad to hear when it claims another precious life. rest in peace mr. barr - i know you have complete healing in God's hands!

Our prayers are with the whole Barr family. Especially his son Richard Barr Ja(Butch) and his sweet grandson Dylan. I know you will miss him. But He is in a better place where there is no more pain. One day you will see him again in Heaven. May God bless you and your family.. Prayers and Hugs...
