WEST COLUMBIA – Private services for Ruby Alice Shumpert, 80, will be held at Southland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church of one’s choice.
Mrs. Shumpert was born February 25, 1932 in Columbia, SC and passed away on Monday, October 22, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Lonnie D. Nates and Pearl Sharpe Nates. Mrs. Shumpert was a pastor’s wife and a wonderful caregiver.
Mrs. Shumpert is survived by her four children, Brenda (Sam) Shumpert Willis, Don Eric (Sue) Shumpert, Steve Wayne Shumpert, and Dian (Donald) Shumpert Miller; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; nine sisters; and 2 brothers. Mrs. Shumpert was predeceased by her husband’s Rev. Raymond Shumpert and second husband Wayne Tesh, Sr. and three brothers.
