CAYCE- Funeral services for Shirley “Chad” Chadwell, Jr. 94, of Cayce, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March, 14, 2014 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with interment in Southland Memorial Gardens. Rev. Thomas Dolittle officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday March 13, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the chapel at the funeral home.
Mr. Chadwell was born November 25, 1919 in Washington, DC and passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. He was the son of the late Shirley Charles Chadwell, Sr. and Bessie Patton Chadwell.
Mr. Chadwell served his country in WWII, Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was 32nd degree Mason, founding member of the Capitol City Sams, a 50 year Shriner and past Legion of Honor Commander.
Mr. Chadwell is survived by Chuck Chadwell (Sue) of Lancaster, Frances Kozlovich (Koz) of Mentor, OH, Barbara Kinsey of Cayce, Sandy Doster (Fred) of Pelion; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased are wife, Margurite Frances Duck Chadwell; son, John Chadwell; sisters, Bessie Vannemon, Dorothy Chadwell, Clara Welborn and Ruth Napier.
