Timothy Rufus Hart went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2024 after a nine month battle with cancer. Tim was born on March 20, 1953 to Johnny Wendell Hart and Mildred Duncan Hart in Loris, SC. His father preceded him in death.
He is survived by his mother, Mildred Duncan Hart and his sister, Molly Dee Senn, both of West Columbia, SC. He is also survived by his son, Ryan G. Hart (Christy) of Pelion, SC; a daughter, Sunny Dugan; three grandchildren; his girlfriend, Linda Lake May of Chapin, SC; his uncle, Neal and aunt, Darlene Hart of Iowa; along with many cousins, a nephew, great-nieces, and a great nephew.
Tim was a graduate of Swansea High School where he played football and was co-captain of SHS’s football team in his senior year. He was a graduate of Midlands Technical College. He retired from Westinghouse with 43 years of service. Tim enjoyed taking trips in his T-top Corvette.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - West Columbia Chapel, 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, South Carolina 29170, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM officiated by Dr. Chet Andrews. Burial will follow the service at Southland Memorial Gardens.
Tim’s family is very grateful for the love and support given to him and his family by his Pastor and the members of State Street Baptist Church through his cancer journey. His family is also grateful for the care given to him by LMC’s Oncologist Dr. Sindusha Gudipally and staff, LMC’s North Tower Medical Team on both 6th and 9th floors, LMC’s Infusion Staff, and LMC’s Cancer Support Group.
