Tim attended Irmo High School and started his professional life at State Wholesale Heating Supplies. He worked alongside his grandfather, his uncle, and his mother learning the HVAC wholesale business from the warehouse to sales. Tim later spent several years at Total Comfort Services, after which he joined his mother in her business, The Trophy and Gift Shop. Tim very much enjoyed the creative aspect of the business, as well as all the relationships he developed with their customers. He retired in 2019 due to illness.
Tim was an avid Gamecock fan and loved attending any games associated with the team. He was a dog lover owning quite a few dogs over the years. Tim’s current dog, a beagle named Jaxon, was his constant companion and great source of comfort and joy the last few years. He loved to travel and explore new places. Tim’s last trip was a tour of the Northeast, a trip that has been on his bucket list for years. His favorite vacation destination was the mountains.
He is survived by his wife, Leslie Whitehurst; sons, Matthew Lee (Emily) Whitehurst and Johnathon Reed McLaurin; grandson, Crawford Lee Whitehurst; uncle, Roger (Kitty) Spires; aunts, Betty McWhorter, Patsy (Harvey) Amick, Nell (Norman) McCarty, and Louise (Don) Parker.
