I truly thank Gene for giving me an oppotunity to work for him and begin my Engineering career.  I also thank him for getting me to move to South Carolina from Ohio - as a young newly grad.  I am still here and thankful to be able to reside here (Charleston area now).

On behalf of my family and the church family of Midlands Christian Church, we extend our sympathies to Gene's family.  We were blessed to have known him and take comfort in the knowledge that Gene is with the Lord.

I have very happy memories of sitting around the kitchen table at the Kirby's house.  While Mrs. Kirby was cooking up something that smelled wonderful,  
Mr. Kirby was helping Gloria and me with our math homework.  He could have easily sent me home to wrestle with my math struggles on my own but he patiently sat with us and talked us through them.  I learned a lot from him, how to work through algebra problems and also deeper lessons such as how to help someone out and how to be a good neighbor.  He will be greatly missed but his legacy lives on through the people he's touched in his life. Ashley and Family, Bill and I are saddened at the death of this great man.  We considered Gene a good Christian Brother and Friend.  His love for his family was a great testimony to us.  I know he will be missed by many.  In Christian Love, Barbara and Bill Ginn
