Alfred Herman Braun

Alfred (Al) Herman Braun, 87 passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025 at Lakeshore Village, in Waco, Tx. Al was born to Alfred and Frieda Braun on May 4, 1937 in Otto, Texas. He attended St. Paul grade school and Marlin ISD. He served in the Texas National Guard out of Marlin, Tx.

He worked for LL Sams & Sons Church Furniture as a foreman for over 40 years. After their merger with Royal Seating Corporation, he continued to work as a contractor for them, setting up and giving technical advice on wood working machinery. Al enjoyed farming and raising cattle on his family’s 100 acre farm in Otto, Tx. He also loved horseback riding, fishing, small engine repair work, and giving a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Monika and his siblings Lois and Harold. Al is survived by his daughters, Arlene Gilchrest and husband Brian, Angie Baker, his son Jimmy Foster and wife Rebecca. Christine McMains and husband Jack, Penny Shelton and husband Tip, Nieces Deena Weems and husband Lyndon, Amy Braun, Russ Ann Hankins and husband Michael. Eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren and many friends, and family.
