

Cedro Riggins, 91, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014 in a local hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Friday, April 4, 2014 at Saint Francis Catholic Church with Father Roman Burgos as celebrant. Interment will follow at Waco Memorial Park with military honors provided by Fort Hood Honor Guard. Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM on Thursday, April 3rd at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors.
Mr. Riggins was born on May 15, 1922 in Waco, Texas to Ernest and Mary (Sandoval) Riggins. He served his country in the United States Army in WW II. He married Catherine Martinez in 1946 and they celebrated over 50 wonderful years together before her death in 1996. Mr. Riggins was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather; he dedicated his life to his family. He will dearly be missed. Mr. Riggins was a member of Saint Francis Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Catherine Riggins, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and 2 great grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughter; Theresa Pesina of Waco, sons; Cedro Riggins, Jr. and his wife, Mary of Marlin, Albert Riggins of Waco and Gilbert Riggins, Sr. and his wife, Carole of Richardson, 3 sisters, 1 brother, 8 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Wesley Woods Rehabilitation and the ICU nurses and doctors at Hillcrest Medical Center for their loving care given to their father.
