Edna Luedke Baade passed away on December 1, 2012 at the age of 87. Visitation will be held at Connally-Compton Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. with the rosary being recited at 6 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 2 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church with burial at Oakwood Cemetery.
Edna Baade was born in Riesel, TX, the eldest child of Carl Luedke and Hulda Strohmeier Luedke. Waco later became her home and on April 19, 1947, she married William John Baade and they had five children. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and her family was her greatest treasure. She was kind with a sweet sense of humor and her love for her family had no bounds. She was a devout Catholic and one of the original members of St. Louis Catholic Church and St. Veronica’s Altar Circle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William John Baade and her parents, Carl Luedke and Hulda Luedke Neumann.
Her survivors include her children, Bill (Ernie) Baade; Charles Baade and wife Lynn; Mary Ann Sutton, Elizabeth Krueger and husband Raymond; Theresa Carter and husband Woody; her grandchildren Penny Campbell, Eddie Baade, Lawrence Sutton Jr. and wife Toni; Jennifer Wentworth; Matthew Sutton and wife Elizabeth; Katie Krueger; Rob Carter and wife Mary; Caleb Carter; ten great grandchildren; and brother Robert Luedke and wife Viola.
Pallbearers are Raymond Krueger, Woody Carter, Lawrence Sutton Jr, Matthew Sutton, Rob Carter and Caleb Carter.
