Edna Lillian Durham, age 93, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021 in Waco. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021 at the funeral home. Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021 at Waco Memorial Park.
Edna was born May 2, 1928 to Roby and Effie (Williamson) Hanks in Pulaski County, Arkansas. Edna graduated from North Little Rock High School. Edna married the love of life, Joy J. Durham on August 30, 1947 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was a longtime resident of Waco, Texas. Edna studied bookkeeping at McLennan Community College and retired from CTWP. Edna was a member of Maranatha Church. She enjoyed quilting, working in her yard and especially helping people. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Linda Moore.
Survivors include her daughters Peggy Freeman and husband James of Waco, Joyce Bach and husband Richard of Garland; four grandsons James Freeman III and wife April of Corsicana, Henry Freeman and wife Amber of Waco, Jordan Bach and wife Rachel of Richardson, Kevin Bach and wife Melanie of Dallas; one great-granddaughter and one great-grandson; three sisters Billie Ryle, Patricia Herring, and Sarah Gibson; and three brothers Robert Hanks, Ronnie Hanks and John Hanks.
