Edward Maurice Arnold August 8, 1919 – March 3, 2011
Edward Maurice Arnold finished his life’s course on Thursday, March 3, 2011 after fighting a good fight while always keeping the faith. A “Celebration of Life” service will be 2:30 p.m., Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Bosqueville United Methodist Church, on Rock Creek Road off Steinbeck Road, with Pastor David Archer officiating. Burial will follow at Bosqueville Cemetery. He will lie in state from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors. Edward was born August 8, 1919 in Downsville, Texas. He was raised and spent many years in Bosqueville, a rural area within Waco. He was a lifelong member of Bosqueville united Methodist Church. He fervently loved his community, his church, his Lord, and his friends. He loved to recount memories involving his experiences on the farm and with his church and friends. He was a loyal and true “son of Bosqueville.” As a youth he played baseball and was an avid TV sports fan. In every way he was an honest, gentle, and caring Christian gentleman and demonstrated his faith through attitude and action. An accountant by profession, he believed strongly in the need for youth to get an education and develop a faithful work ethic. He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Lee Arnold. He is survived by three nephews, Paul Culp of Dallas, Roland Drewyer of Mansfield, and Jerry Don Drewyer of Virginia Beach, VA; as well as two nieces, Carol Bybee of Dallas and jerry Lynne Evans of Great Falls, MT. His loved wife’s niece, Wanda miller of Clifton, also survives him. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Bosqueville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 5340, Waco, TX, 76708 Arrangements under the direction of Connally-Compton Funeral Directors, Waco, TX.
