Esta Mourine Davis Stewart

She was born to Onnie and Linne Davis in Dallas, Texas on January 12, 1925. Esta graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor’s in Special Education in 1967. She taught at West Junior High School in Waco. After retiring, Esta volunteered with Meals on Wheels and the Waco VA Hospital. She was lifetime member of both the Henry Downs Chapter of the DAR and the 388th Bombardment Group. As a charter member of Lake Shore Drive Church of Christ she was active in the ladies’ ministry and famous for her pecan pies.

Esta is survived by her husband, David F. Stewart. Together they celebrated 69 years, 11 months and 2 days of marriage. She is also survived by daughters Frances Ammons (Paul) and Ruth Castleberry (Paul Richard), son Wayne Stewart (Ronda), “adopted” children Paul Cummings (Patti), Richard Braun, and Ginger Raney; 7 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
