Mr Francis Marion Holt, Jr, age 87 of Lorena, passed away Monday, June 7, 2021 in Temple, TX. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors. Burial to follow at the Waco Memorial Park.
Francis was born on February 4, 1934 to Francis M Holt, Sr and Blanche (Lane) Holt in Speegleville, TX. He graduated from La Vega High School in 1953. Francis attended Texas Tech and the University of Texas. He married the love of his life, Anita Hope Corbell on September 2, 1955 and they celebrated 65 years together. He was a successful general contractor specializing in remodeling and restoring historical homes, working into his late 70s. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at the lake on the weekends with his family. Most of all, he loved the Lord and lived his life accordingly. He was a faithful member of Spring Valley Road Church of Christ. Francis is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Roxanne Sula, and his four sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Holt of Lorena, son, Bruce Holt and (Deborah) of McGregor, daughter, Angela Baze and (Joel) of Lorena, son,Gregory Holt and (Melinda) of the Woodlands; grandchildren Christy Welschmeyer and (Jonathan), Josie Adams and (Josh), Caleb Baze and (Laura), Ashley Nucera, Jared Holt and Austin Holt; great-grandchildren Eva and Liam Welschmeyer, Cora and Alan Baze, and Marcus Adams; brother, Mike Holt and (Margaret) of Liberty Hill.
