Ida Mae Peters Niekamp

Ida Mae Niekamp, age, 82, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at a local nursing home in Waco. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 15, 2011 at Connally /Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Deacon Lorenzo Garcia officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, at the funeral home.

Ida was born on December 31, 1928 to Roy C. and Freida Reich Peters in Brenham, Texas. She was long time resident of Waco. Ida enjoyed life by traveling, casino gambling, long rides in the country, and spending time with her four legged companions, Frisky, Pooter, Jessica and Red.

She was preceded in death by, parents, Roy C. and Freida Peters; husband, Anton John Niekamp; son, Robert Niekamp; brother, Charles Peters.

Those left behind to cherish Ida’s memory are son, Anton L. Niekamp of Waco; daughters, Mary Ann Williams and husband, Robert of Waco; Rita Niekamp of Waco, Donna Niekamp of Waco; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Berrios of Waco; brothers, Willie Peters of Hallsburg, Fritz Peters of Arkansas, John Peters of Hewitt and Joe Peters of West; sister, Patricia Scott of Lacy Lakeview; grandson, Joshua Williams and wife, Kristie of Bellmead; great-grandchildren, Cindel Williams and Rylan Williams both of Bellmead.

The family would like to thank the staff at Ridgecrest Nursing Home and Providence Hospice for the care given to their mother.
