James E. Kemp, 79, of Waco, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2024 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Beacon Hill Baptist Church with the Reverend Reggie Blake officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, September 23rd at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors.
Mr. Kemp was born on June 17, 1945 in Marlin Texas to Richard and Faye (Ethridge) Kemp. Mr. Kemp served his country in the United States Air Force. He married Kyreta Green on September 22, 1967 in Brownfield, Texas and they celebrated over 49 wonderful years together until her death on April 8, 2017. He was a member of Beacon Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Kemp was very involved in his church. He travel many miles driving his truck all over the country. Mr. Kemp was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Ann Stillwell and a grandson, Ryan Moorefield.
Survivors include, son, James R. Kemp of Waco; daughter, Danyelle Pettorini and her husband, Ty of Waco, grandchildren, Kelly Richey, Jarrod Moorefield, Matthew Pettorini and Sadie Pettorini; great grandsons, Landon Moorefield, Taysom Richey and Hudson Pettorini; great granddaughter, Lynzee Richey; sister, Barbara Campbell, sisters-in-law, Pat Lucas and her husband Duane and Carol Green and his couch buddy, Weebit.
