

Jay Armstrong, 55, passed away on May 15, 2015. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, at the funeral home. The family will have a private graveside service with the Rev. Sharron Cox from St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Jay graduated from Jefferson-Moore High School in 1978. He played football and baseball in school and local youth programs. He loved fishing and the outdoors, but especially lakes and oceans. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Eddie Pearl Smith.
He is survived by his sons, Thomas and Jay; parents, Robinette and Dale Evans and Kenneth and Sandy Armstrong, of San Diego; brothers, Tad Robin Armstrong and wife, Rhonda, Anthony Armstrong of Oklahoma; sisters, Camille Penney, Christie Tucker and husband, Barney, of McKinney and Elena Armstrong Harper of California; aunt, Ruth Ann Smith and son, Eric Redman; niece, Rhoda Myers and husband, Joe; nephews, Dale Evans of Austin, Wilburn Tucker of McKinney, Sterling Tucker of Austin, and Michael Penney; great-niece, Ferris "FiFi" Myers; great-nephew, Holden Myers; aunt, Ann Lynch; and cousin, Pat Lynch of Florida.
The family wishes to thank the Ben Taub Hospital Surgical ICU in Houston and especially the many medical teams who assisted with his care.
