Jim Fraga, 87, passed away on September 8, 2024, in Waco, Texas. He was born on July 25, 1937, in Marlin, Texas, to Pedro and Apolinaria Fraga. Jim lived a full life characterized by his devotion to his family.
Jim served his country as a proud member of the Army from 1955 to 1958 where he served in Korea. One week before deployment Jim met Gracie Ramirez. They married on April 22, 1959 and enjoyed 65 wonderful years together. After his military service, he worked for General Tire in Waco for 17 years. He then established his own business, Jim’s Lawn Service, which he operated until his retirement. This business not only flourished but also reflected his love for the outdoors.
A simple man at heart, Jim cherished time spent gardening with his wife, Gracie. His life was a testament to the joys of simple pleasures, time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and his unwavering support for the Dallas Cowboys.
Jim was a beloved family man, survived by his wife, Gracie Fraga; daughter-in-law, Evonne Fraga; grandchildren, Stephanie Ramirez and her husband Horasio, Robert Andrew Fraga, and Santiago Fraga; and great-grandchildren, Lilah Gonzales, Liliana Gonzales, Austin Ramirez, and Andrew Ramirez. His brother, sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Robert Andrew Fraga, Horasio Ramirez, Andrew Ramirez, Jimmy Chavez, Edward Ramirez, and Paul Fraga.
Honorary pallbearers will be Santiago Fraga and Austin Ramirez.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Apolinaria Fraga; his beloved son, Robert Fraga; and grandson, Christopher Fraga.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM at Connally Compton Funeral Home, 4400 W Waco Dr, Waco, TX 76710.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Oakwood Cemetery, 2124 S 5th St, Waco, TX 76706.
Connally Compton Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Jim's legacy of love, service, and simplicity will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
