John Bogue Shannon

Funeral services will be 9:30a.m., Friday, September 19, at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home, 1615 S. Fort Hood St., Killeen. Burial will follow at Central Texas State Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.

The Family will receive visitors from 6p.m. to 8p.m., Thursday, September 18, at Connally-Compton Funeral Directors, 4400 W. Waco Dr., Waco, Texas.

John was born January 15, 1936 in Somervell County to Frank and Daisy Shannon. He joined the military at a 17 and spent time serving from 1953-1977 with the Navy, Air force Reserves and the Army. John later worked with Civil Services at Hood Army Airfield Operations as a Flight Service assistant for 20 years. He dedicated over 40 years of service in the Government of the United States of America.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Robert Shannon and Howard Shannon.

John is survived by his son, Frank Shannon and wife Reyna; grandson, John Shannon, granddaughters, Jessica Willyerd and husband Travis and Wendy Serrano and husband Raymond Gonzalez; great-granddaughters, Anabell and Mia and great-grandson, Ray.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Brittany Medrano from Visiting Angels, Victoria with hospice and all the nursing staff at Bluebonnet Home Health Care & Hospice.
