Jolene Burton Price, 81, of Waco, Texas, died on January 9, 2021 after a brief and unexpected illness. Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Waco Memorial Park. All are welcome. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2021 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors.
Jolene, born May 12, 1939, grew up in Greenville, Texas, where she lived until moving to Hearne, Texas. She graduated from Hearne High School in 1957, then attended Abilene Christian College where she met the love of her life, Jerry Arthur Price. In 1964 Jolene and Jerry were married at Diamond Hill Church of Christ in Forth Worth. They shared 57 wonderful years together.
Jolene was a Preacher's wife and a Homemaker. She taught ladies' Bible Class at Eunice Church of Christ in Louisiana and at Columbus Avenue Church of Christ in Waco. She spent many years beautifying her yard, which was her pride and joy. She also had a gift for music, playing beautiful songs on the piano during the years of raising her children. She devoted 10 years of her life to taking care of her parents during their last years. When she wasn't doing yard work, playing her piano, or helping others, she could be found shopping at antique stores, craft malls, thrift stores, or having garage sales.
Jolene was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Allene Burton of Greenville, Texas. She is survived by her husband Jerry, son Terry & wife Cathy, daughter Melanie & husband Don, daughter Jennifer & husband John, seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister Jeanette Adamson of Duncanville, Texas, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a plethora of friends who loved her and will miss her greatly.
