Joyce “Pee Wee” Ferrill, 79, of China Spring, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Pastor Erik Emblem officiating and Bill Vinson assisting. Burial will follow at White Rock Cemetery in Ross, Texas. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, September 24, 2010 at the funeral home.
Joyce Marie was born March 29, 1931 in Asa, Texas to John and Janie (Kelly) Cherry. She was employed with Owens-Illinois Glass Company and retired after 40+ years. Joyce “Pee Wee” was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 56 years, Paul C. Ferrill; sister, Jackie Bounds; and brother, John Cherry.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Clayton Ferrill and wife, Carrie, of Waco, Paula Lednicky and husband, David, of Cypress; grandchildren, Cody Ferrill and Christopher Ferrill, both of Orlando, FL, Scott Lednicky of Dallas, Katy Lednicky of Cypress; great grandson, Ethan Ferrill; sister, Jeanne Taggart and husband, Raymond, of Sargent; special niece, Gean Harless of China Spring; special nephew, Bill Vinson and wife, Dianna, of Moody; numerous other relatives, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Edward Bounds, Herb Kunkel, Harold McCain, Raymond Taggart, Wayne West, and Bob Westwood. Honorary Pallbearer is Jack Martin.
