

Juanita Keenan passed away on February 19, 2012, in Waco. Burial will 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, in Waco Memorial Park followed by services to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00am Thursday, February 23 at the Connally-Compton Funeral Directors Chapel. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors.
Juanita was born September 7, 1927 in Ft. Worth, TX, the second of eight children to Homer and Almedia Bates. She graduated from North Side High School and soon married Charles H. Keenan Jr. in 1945. She remained a homemaker throughout her life; her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her compassion extended to others including Internationals and young adults through church involvement.
Her favorite pastimes were reading and playing games, particularly 42 with family and many lifelong friends. She and Charles loved to travel and took many road trips together often to their retreat in Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her husband and parents and four siblings.
She is survived by siblings Peggy Cox (and husband, Gail), Jerry Bates (and wife, Roberta), and Nicki Knight (and husband, Eddie). She is also survived her three children: Cassie Stone (and husband, Tommy), Tim Keenan, and Doug Keenan (and wife, Deb); and by her grandchildren: Pam West, Tami Norman (and husband, Chris), Roxie Keenan, and Charles Keenan; and great-grandchildren: Maggie, Drew, and Katie West, and Abby and Aidan Norman.
