Louise Mae (Rose) Willis

Louise Mae Rose Willis, was born in Waco, Texas on August 28, 1923 to Guy Burleson Rose and Florence Welch Rose and passed away at her home on January 25, 2023. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, January 30, 2023 in Rosemound Cemetery with the Reverend Jeff Wyers officiating.

She was raised by her great grandmother Julia Copeland, Aunt Bea Moore and Uncle George Moore. She attended Waco Schools. On June 2, 1941 Louise married James Willis. To this union three children were born Judy, Janeth and Monty Wayne. Louise was a devoted and loving mother to her three children; grandmother to her seven grandchildren; and great grandmother to her five great grandchildren.

Louise was a very hard worker throughout her life. During World War II, she worked at the Blue Bonnet Bomb Factory in McGregor; various manufacturing companies in Waco; ending her work career in Houston in the mailroom of Automatic wholesale electronics. Throughout her life she loved dancing, shopping, traveling and going to casinos. She was very independent and was driving into her 90’s.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, husband James Willis, brother Guy Burleson Rose Jr., son-in-law Ray Kuykendall, special friend Tom Mason and step granddaughter Danna Lloyd.

Louise is survived by her daughters, Judy Lloyd and husband Scott, Janeth Kuykendall, son Monty Wayne Willis, grandchildren Keith Adams and wife Joan, Stephanie Bradford and husband Mark, Sheri Kuykendall, Christopher Kuykendall, Patrick Kuykendall, Karen Wirth and husband Mike, Brenda Snead and husband Jason and step grandson David Lloyd and wife Jennifer, great grandchildren, Nicole Munyon and husband Morrell, Kelcie Willis, Hallie Bradford, Matthew Bradford, Jason Snead II and step great grandson Ryan Lloyd.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Singh and his staff for the excellent loving care of our mother the past 8 years. Also Visiting Angels, especially Angels Venessa Scott, Alma and Brandi.
