

Lydia (Lillie) Casillas Martinez passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 26, with rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Connally Compton Funeral Directors. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, August 27, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Waco Memorial Park Cemetery.
Lydia was born September 15, 1936 in Otto, TX. She married Johnny C. Martinez, Sr. on November 18, 1961. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Mutualista Hall, and the Waco Missions. She retired from Goodwill Industries after 38 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Casillas,,Sr.; her mother, Gabina Rosas Casillas; her brother, George Casillas Jr; her son, Johnny Martinez, Jr; and a special aunt and uncle, Manuel and Mary Cruz.
Lydia is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Johnny C. Martinez Sr; her daughters, Marisa Sliva and husband, Darren, Monica Smith and husband, Darrel, Marion Palomino and husband, Axel; and a very dear niece, Andrea Almaraz; grandchildren, Brandon Sliva and wife, Jamie, Dara Sliva, Cianna Palomino, Myah Palomino, Johnny Palomino; great-grandson, Ayden Olivarez; brothers, Gonzalo Casillas and wife, Rafaela, Joe Casillas and wife, Gloria, Johnny Casillas and partner, Chuck Gekiere; sisters, Josie Alonzo and husband, Ygnacio (Chick), Janie Hurtado and husband, Richard; stepmother, Rosa Casillas; and numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Pallbearers are Tony Martinez, Jr., Rob Martinez, Adrian Hurtado, Rick Gutierrez, Fredy Martinez, Robert Harn; Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Brandon and Johnny.
Memorials may be given in her honor to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
