Mary J. (Hernandez) Padilla

Mary J. (Hernandez) Padilla, 72, of Waco, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, November 24, 2014 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors with Pastor Tony Chavez officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 23rd from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Padilla was born on June 24, 1942 in Waco to Faustino and Beatrice (Perez) Hernandez. She married Joe R. Padilla and they were together for over 40 years until his death in 2007. Mrs. Padilla loved to sew, cook, bingo, go to the casinos, the Dallas Cowboys and her Novelas but her true love was her family. She was a great sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and dear friend. Her parents, husband, son; Henry Hernandez, brother; Paul Hernandez and a sister; Betty Jane Hernandez preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sons; Ronnie Hernandez, Sr. and his wife, Irene, Albert Hernandez, Sr. and his wife, Becky and Pete Padilla and his wife, Sandra, daughter; Debbie Padilla, sisters; Tommie Orta, Lupe Chapa and Manuella Hernandez, brother; John Hernandez, Sr., 15 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Lupe Calderon, Pete Padilla, Jesus Guerrero, Isaac Felan, Ronnie Hernandez, Jr. and Macedonio Castaneda, Jr.
