Mary Frances Gardner Kroll

Frances was born in Fort Worth, Texas on September 15, 1922 to the late RA and Connie Gardner. She graduated from Coleman High School, before attending Wesleyan College and North Texas State University.

Frances moved to Marlin, Texas in 1947 after her marriage to Lewis L Crenshaw in 1943, and the birth of her only child, daughter Cynthia (Cindy). Frances later married Maurice Kroll of Marlin, Texas on June 11, 1984; they were married for 31 years.

In 2004 Frances and Maurice relocated to Kerrville to retire. Though she and Maurice enjoyed traveling she came to love Kerrville and call it home.

Frances was a member of the Republican Party, where she dedicated many hours in addition to raising her daughter. She served as a Girl Scout leader nine years and was also actively involved in the First Presbyterian Church where she held several offices and taught Sunday school for 11 years.

Frances was an avid bridge player and was a member of the ABCL (National Bridge Association). She was designated as a Master and served as a Director of ACBL.

Mary Frances is survived by her daughter Cynthia Crenshaw Chapman and her husband Steve of Kerrville, Texas; her faithful and loving husband, Maurice Kroll; brother, Bobby Gardner and his wife, Miney, of Brenham, Texas; grandson Dr. Michael Chapman, his wife Carolyn and great grandchildren Cooper, Cecily and Andrew of Dallas, Texas; granddaughter Lane Beams and her husband Walt of Abilene, Texas; niece Beth Florence and husband, John, and nephew, David Gardner and wife, Nancy, all of Houston, Texas.

The family extends their sincere appreciation to Paula Marshall, Brandy Urban and Dr. David Miloy for their compassionate care

over several years of dedication to Frances’ well being.

A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Kroll at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors, in Waco, Texas with the Reverend David Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Rodef Sholom Cemetery.
