Mollie was born in Tulia, Texas on February 3, 1927 to Thomas and Margaret Ziegler and later moved to Canyon, Texas where she lived with her parents and five brothers, Jacob, Richard, Thomas, Robert, and Joseph. She graduated from Canyon High School and briefly attended West Texas State University. In mid-1945 she met and fell in love with Clarence Ewing (C.E.) Nance and they married shortly after on November 28, 1945 in Amarillo, Texas. They were married for more than 56 years when C.E. passed away on April 8, 2002.
Throughout the years, Mollie and C.E. served faithfully in three churches; First Baptist Church Amarillo, First Baptist Church Dallas, where they were Founders and Superintendents of the Young Married Department and, Midway Road Baptist Church which is now Brookhaven Church of McKinney, Texas. That last move was almost 30 years ago, 20 of which Mollie served as one of the church secretaries. She and C.E. continued their work with young married couples by starting and heading up a Young Married Sunday School Department She also started the Greeter’s Ministry, the Pastor’s Reception for Guests, the New Members Class, and the church newsletter. Mollie mentored and encouraged countless young married women over the years, many of whom are still close friends. In 2002, the day before C.E. passed, their service was honored by the church and they were presented with a beautiful picture engraved with the Scripture, "God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them." Hebrews 6:10
Mollie was Mom to three children: Mark Nance of Sherman, Carla Thomas of Hewitt, and Rusty Nance and wife Jana of Dallas. She was Grandy to six Grandchildren: Michael Simon and wife Casandra, Christopher Thomas and wife Rachel, Molly Faught and husband Stephen, Matthew Nance, Hailey Nance, and Noah Nance and his wife Delaney.
