Myrlene Welch

Her family will greet guests at a visitation on Monday, April 9 at Connally-Compton Funeral Directors from 6-8pm. Her funeral will be on Tuesday, April 10 at Connally-Compton at 10:00am.

Myrlene was born on May 7, 1919 to Charles and Nellie Barnard. All of her life it meant so much to her to help other people. She loved volunteering at the VA Hospital and enjoyed her many mission trips with Meadowbrook Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking wonderful food for her family and won several ribbons at the State Fair of Texas. She was very proud to have won Best of Show for her peach cobbler, twice.

Myrlene is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Welch; and sons, Bobby Welch and Wade Welch.

She is survived by her daughter, Sue Rainey; grandsons, Brian Welch and William Welch; granddaughter, Christine McGrew; and 7 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Providence ICU Nurses for their care and kindness. Donations can be made in Myrlene’s name to Stilwell Retirement Center at 5400 Laurel Lake Drive, Waco.
