

Opal Gilbreath, 90, of Elm Mott, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013 in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Monday, August 12, 2013 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with the Reverend Jack Bodenhamer officiating. Interment will follow in White Rock Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Sunday, August 11th at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gilbreath was born on March 12, 1923 in Waco to John and Hattie Neyhard. She married Earl P. Gilbreath on February 22, 1941 in Las Vegas and they celebrated over 50 wonderful years together until his death on November 1, 1992. Mrs. Gilbreath worked for Lorches Dress Factory in West for over 20 years; she loved to crochet, play games, dance and play the harmonica. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elm Mott. Mrs. Gilbreath was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers and sisters, Corris Neyhard, Fay Dell Long, Barney Neyhard and J.L. Neyhard.
Survivors include her children, Patsy Grider and her husband, Mel of Robinson, Robert Gilbreath and his wife, Faye of Lubbock, Larry Gilbreath and his wife, Debra of Elm Mott and Lynetta Brunson and her husband, Ronnie of Elm Mott, grandchildren, Stephanie Taylor, Gil Lee Grider, Richard Gilbreath, Robert Brunson, Larry Gilbreath, Bradley Brunson, Barbara Lindelow, Leeann Smith and Ethan Grider and great grandchildren, Bailey, Madison, Jackson, Savannah, Audrey, Breanna, Meredith, Chloe, Thomas, Alek, Jenny and Kayla.
