Pauline Hurst Welch, 94, of Waco, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Brookdale Lakeshore Assisted Living in Waco. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors with the Reverend Curtis Holland officiating. Interment will be 11:00 AM, Monday, August 5th in Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas.
Mrs. Welch was born on November 17, 1924 in Crawford, Texas to William Thomas and Pearl (Duckett) Hurst. She married James “Preacher” Welch on April 12, 1958 in Dallas and they celebrated over 47 wonderful years together until his death on February 7, 2006. Mrs. Welch worked in the banking industry for over 30 years in Dallas. She loved watching the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys and the Baylor Bears, working in her flower garden and going to the boats but her true love was her family. Mrs. Welch was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters; Dorobeth Hurst and Gwen Martin and brothers; William Hurst, George Hurst and Jack Hurst.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews; Kelly Hurst Ferguson and her husband, Carl, Paula Hurst Walker, Lorill Queener, Russell Martin and his wife, Teresa, Jeff Martin and his wife, Theresa, Randy Singleton, Ann Welch Fisher and Cecelia Banik and numerous great nieces, great nephews, cousins and dear friends.
The family would like to thank Brookdale Lakeshore for the excellent care given to Aunt Polly for 8 1/2 years and Jeremy and Juanita with Kindred Hospice Care, for their compassionate care.
