Roger M. Caddell

Roger M. Caddell, 67, of China Spring, Texas, formerly of Irving, Texas passed away Friday, December 20, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family. The family will have a visitation on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors in Waco, Texas followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM. Roger was born on November 14, 1952 in Marlin, Texas to George Jefferson Caddell, Sr. and Susie Helen (Walker) Caddell. He graduated from University High School in Waco and he took pride in working with his father at Lehigh Portland Cement Company in Waco. He later pursued a career in Law Enforcement, he was a City Marshall in Bryan, Texas and later worked for the City of Irving Police Department. The job he really enjoyed was working security at the Dallas Cowboy Stadium. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy and Texas Ranger fan. Roger loved watching the deer, birds and relaxing in the country but his true love was his family. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his son; Travis Brandon Caddell, daughter; Traci Caddell, brothers; George Caddell and his wife Kaye and Johnny Caddell, sisters; Hope Byrd and her husband, John and Tammie Nehring and her husband, Randy, grandson; Caden Caddell, mother of his children; Karen Caddell and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Tammy Guardiola with Texas Home Health for her excellent care of Roger in the last month.

I’m sorry to hear of Roger‘s passing. I played baseball with him at University High. He was a senior and I a sophomore. He was a very good left handed pitcher. I remember Uncle George, George Jr, and Roger working with my dad to put a bomb shelter in our backyard during the Cuban missile crisis.

My prayers are for peace for his family and fond memories.
