

Thomas Earl Coleman was born on March 5, 1953 in Waco, Texas. Tommy passed away peacefully after a short illness at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Hospital on December 19, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl L. Coleman and Norma J. Hawkins Coleman Groman; stepfather, Frank Groman; wife, Lorie Buck Coleman; brother, Chris Groman; brother, Mike Groman; sister, Helen Groman, and brother-in-law, Carl Jones. He is survived by brothers David Groman and wife, Crystal; David Coleman and wife, Debbie; sister, Kay Jones and several beloved nieces and nephews, as well as his cherished cats, Bear and Sox.
Tommy attended Midway School District through the 11th grade where he excelled at most sports, including football. He was an excellent bowler starting at the age of 12. Tommy continued bowling throughout his young adulthood well into his 50s. He was a truck driver most of his life until he retired due to health issues. Tommy loved spending time with his friends and family. He was an avid Baylor sports fan, attending football games when he could. As he got older, Tommy loved supporting the Baylor women's basketball team and had season tickets for the last several years. Tommy's favorite hobby over the last 20 years or so was golf. He looked forward to playing at least weekly with his brother and would play with anyone who was invited. His second favorite hobby was trash talking his playing companions and occasionally throwing a club or 2 when he was having a less than great game.
Tommy had a big personality and loved to play pranks and joke with everyone. His family and friends will miss him profoundly.
Visitation for Tommy will be Tuesday, December 23 from 10:30 AM-12:30 PM at Connally-Compton Funeral Home in Waco. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM at Waco Memorial Park.
