Verda Louise McNeil

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Kay Tuel officiating.

Verda was born in Vernon, Texas, December 13, 1929 to Alton and Johnnie Lou (Selmon) McCarley. She attended Baylor University and married M.C. “Rusty” McNeil in 1949 who preceded her in death. She worked as a legal secretary at the First National bank in the trust department. She was a member of the Legal Secretaries Association in Waco. Later she worked at Thomas Goggan & Bros.

Survivors include her son, Mark McNeil and wife Nancy; daughter, Claudia Price and husband Walter; four grandchildren, Rylan McNeil and wife Erika, Kit McNeil, Ian McNeil and Nathan Price; two great grandchildren, Ayden and Gavin McNeil.

Verda will be remembered for her love of travel, fashion, wry wit, music and being with good friends. She was a volunteer at Second Chance in Waco for several years.

The family wishes to thank all of her loving caregivers over the last two years and kind support given by her circle of friends.

Memorial may be made in Verda’s name to the charity of choice.
