

Agrifina Tumbaga Ibarra, 87, of Kahului, passed away on June 28, 2025 at Hale Makua Kahului. She was born in Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on June 21, 1938 to parents, Maria Agsalog and Julian Tumbaga.
She is survived by husband, Pedro Ibarra (deceased); children, Agnes (Alfred) Ibarra, Pedrito (Monique) Ibarra, Arnold (Allison) Ibarra; grandchildren, Jared Gomes, Aaron Gomes, Reilly Ibarra, Isaac Ibarra, Alec Ibarra, Teegan Ibarra; five great-grandchildren; sister, Nomeda Ilar; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Agrifina has always been a hard worker who was dedicated to taking care of her family. She was a housekeeper at Inter Continental Hotel, a laborer at HC&S and Makimoto’s Farm, and then a lobby porter at the Grand Wailea Hotel where she retired in 1998. After retirement, she spent lots of time taking care of her family and also volunteered at the Maui Adult Day Care Center in Kahului and the Nisei Veterans Center. She also volunteered prepping food for Juan’s Kitchen in Wailuku with owner and niece, Zaida Juan. Agrifina loved to cook, sing, shop, travel, dine out, spend time with family and friends, attend Sunday church service, play Word Search, and enjoyed her favorite shows which were The Price Is Right, Wheel Of Fortune, and loved Filipino Soap Operas.
Agrifina was deeply loved and will be truly missed. The Ibarra family wants to acknowledge and mahalo the staff at Hale Makua Kahului Pikake Wing and the staff of Hospice Maui.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Norman’s Mortuary. Family visitation will begin at 8:00AM, followed by public visitation at 9:00AM. Service will begin at 10:00AM with lunch to follow. Burial will take place at Maui Memorial Park in Wailuku at 2:00PM.
