

Pastor David dela Cruz of Kihei, Maui Hawaii and Philippines went home to his creator on October 31, 2024 at Kula Hospital at the age of 85 years and 11 months old. He is survived by daughter Carmelei Dela Cruz Leano (Rolly) and son Abel Domingo Dela Cruz ( MJ); grand children Dan Dela Cruz Leano (Robelyn), Joshua Dela Cruz Leano Jonah Dela Cruz Leano and Micah dela Cruz (Mai Van): great grand daughter Malia j dela Cruz and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by wife Josefina Domingo Dela Cruz; parents Jaime Guillermo Dela Cruz and Amancia Coloma Dela Cruz; brothers Timoteo Dela Cruz (Donata), Romeo Dela Cruz (Ambrosia): sisters Felisa Dela Cruz Guillermo(Ricardo), Leonora Dela Cruz, Perpetua Dela Cruz.
He was born on November 29, 1938 in Bingao, San Nicolas llocos Norte Philippines. He was married to Josefina on December 21, 1959 at Bingao Assembly of God.
He received a pastoral degree from Luzon Bible College, Philippines on March 13, 1959 and he was affiliated and ordained as a minister under the Philippine General Council of the Assemblies of God. He was the founder of his hometown church, Aurora Assembly of God, Philippines. He was not only a pastor, but also a rice grower.
He immigrated to Maui in October 1990 and began a job at Maui Land and Pine as a Can Making Seamer Operator. He later retired at age 62.
He was a former member of Maui First Assembly of God, Assembly of the First Born and Faith in Jesus Church.
He enjoyed reading books especially the bible, listening to christian music, playing guitar/ukelele and accordion. He enjoyed facetime/video calls to his relatives and was very active on facebook. He also enjoyed going to the beach.
He was industrious, organized, helpful and a giver.
His greatest legacy was to share the word of God and to help those in need in any capacity that he can.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 5th 2024, at Faith in Jesus Church in Wai'ehu, Maui. Public viewing will begin at 9:00am, service at 10:00am and Burial at 2pm at Valley Isle Memorial Park.
